NOTICE TO PUBLIC

1. At a public meeting on January 28, 2018, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to adopt Resolution 2018-2, which authorized the filing of a grant application under the 2018 PA Small Water Program to help fund the Tomstown Public Water Main Extension which is designed to provide potable water to nine homes along Tomstown Road north of the Mentzer Gap Road intersection. The Township has already secured $62,594 of the $175,000 cost to construct this line from the 2017 Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). Unfortunately, the State Financing Authority chose not to fund the difference; however, on September 20, 2018 the Board authorized filing a new application for additional funding from the 2018 CDBG Program.

At a public meeting on January 28, 2018, the Board of Supervisors voted 2 to 1 to adopt Resolution 2018-3, which authorized a Declaration of Taking for the purpose of exercising the right of Eminent Domain for the Mount Valley Riders Saddle Club property.  This right was exercised on May 22, 2018 after negotiations with the Saddle Club were unsuccessful. The Court has appointed a 3 judge panel to review the case. In the interim, the Township participated in a Court Hearing on September 24, 2018, including testimony by the Vice Chairman, to hear objections raised by the Condemnee.  The 3 judge panel has not met to date.

4. At a public meeting on April 18, 2018, the Board of Supervisors approved making a future commitment to move and restore the historic pump trough located in the square of Tomstown; after the Tomstown Public Water Mainline Extension is completed and residents are no longer dependent on the services of the private line for their daily water needs.

5. At a public meeting on May 1, 2018, the Board of Supervisors announced that a draft Memo of Understanding had been developed with the Mont Alto Municipal Authority to provide public water to the proposed White Rock Town Center.
